“Light Beams Dance” Rocks the Glitche Cube at Illuminus Festival – Boston Nuit Blanche 2014

Glitche Cube heavenThe cube instantly became selfie heaven for the 8000 visitors who entered the festival space that evening for Boston’s first ever Nuit Blanche. They got to experience “Light Beams Dance” surrounded by over 300 strands of fabrics, immersed in full stereo sound and colors beamed by a 20,000 lumen Christie projector. Now that’s bright!

New Work to Premiere at Twelve Nights – Opening Reception Aug 7th.

I will be showing several new pieces for the first time at Twelve Nights, a group show opening on August 7th, 2014 from 6-8pm at the Boston Sculptors Gallery.
On display will be light boxes based on the work that came out of Maps & Territory. From video to print, these colorful images were made for back lighting.
I will be showing the Light Beams video series, including the one premiering at Beacons Lumens festival in the UK this weekend: Light Beams Dance. But I will also show two other videos that hint at how Light Beams came to be and how it connects with other artists’ work in the show.
I am particularly excited about a video installation created in collaboration with Todd Antonellis. Based on his original idea and design, “Little Dragon” will for sure be a show highlight. Starring Liz Nofziger’s daughter Isa, the short film is a heroic slice of childhood play time.
I do hope to see you all there, it will be a great evening.
I just heard the Boston Globe will be reviewing the show… You can tell everyone you were there!

New Video Work LightBeams To Be Shown At Beacons Festival 2014 in the U.K. This Summer

I can’t wait to see this project happen!
This new series of video works will be featured this summer at Beacons Festival 2014 in Skipton, England.

The Beacons Line up includes
Even our own SPEEDY ORTIZ (from Northampton, MA)

Beacons is not a gigantic festival like Coachella, Bonnaroo, or Glastonbury.
While primarily a music festival, the arts side of the event is prominently featured.

The Arts Council Grant for the Arts will fund this project to build a large scale, sculptural piece for the projection.
This is what some of it looked like in 2013.

This is the piece I created that will be part of the outdoor projection along with other works curated into the show.
