Video
My video work mixes images from various sources echoing the issues I deal with conceptually: climate change, land and the built environment, capitalist excesses, the human experience and the ephemeral nature of life. I often use found audio or text fragments, as well as my own photography and video to make works that resonate and spark a dialog.
Sometimes, the research, curating and editing of images to create a theme with recurring motifs is the bulk of the work. Developing the formal and emotional connections, while framing issues in interesting metaphors, requires many iterations, just like a painter would choose this color over that one, layering this highlight or deepening this shadow, to perfect the picture. Sometimes, this work is meant to be performed with musicians in front of a live audience.
